Our process includes the following components:

Initial Clinical Interview
This session consists of obtaining background information, history of presenting concerns, medical information and history of the consumer’s academic career.

Psychological Testing
This process generally lasts 4-8 hours, and may be separated into multiple testing sessions. Furthermore, we will consider any past assessments, medical records, school performance, teacher ratings and comments concerning academic performance and behavior.

Feedback Session
This session consists of reviewing and discussing test results and recommendations.

What should I expect during the evaluation process?

A psychological evaluation typically consists of a thorough clinical interview and may consist of a series of formal or structured psychological assessments designed to identify and describe emotional, behavioral, or cognitive strengths and/or challenges.

Will insurance cover the cost?

Knapp Psychological Services accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you have another insurance provider, you are welcome to proceed with the testing, however, we would bill you directly, and you would need to submit the claim to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

The cost for testing is $225 per hour. This includes times with the consumer, scoring and writing the psychological report.

How long does the testing take?

Psychological testing can vary in length depending on the type of assessment and the specific areas being evaluated. In general, it can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours, spread potentially over multiple sessions.

What do I need to bring to my evaluation?
